Let's take a step back for a second

I know I have been focusing on our house renovation work but I want to take a minute to go on a tangent. I work in healthcare, that's no secret. I've seen the news right now, you've seen the news right now, my daddy has texted me about the news... It's sounding scary. I will tell y'all what I told my own parents.

PLEASE do not put off seeking care for concerning signs or symptoms. If you experience concerning signs or symptoms that prepandemic would have made you go to the emergency room, STILL GO NOW. The hospitals have policies and procedures in place to help keep everyone safe. Yes, I know said policies and procedures may change from day to day, but they are doing their best with the information they have at hand. Follow your state and local guidelines regarding safety steps and remember to wash your hands often.

Why? Why do I still say go in for concerning things like chest pain, stroke symptoms, or any other issue that would have made you call an ambulance or go to your nearest emergency room before 2020? Because we still want to treat you BEFORE the issues or symptoms you are experiencing get worse. We want to treat your stroke symptoms before permanent damage has set in. There are medications that can actually mitigate and reverse some to all damage. But it has to be administered within a short period of time. We want to treat your chest pain or other cardiac issues while we still can via access in the vein in your leg and NOT in an open heart surgery suite with your chest open. And we want to treat illnesses before they become too far gone to recover from.

Yes, we're busy. Yes there are many sick people that need our help. If you do too, we do not want you to not seek treatment out of fear. I recently did a Facebook Live on this and will try to attach it for you to see. I mean every word, just like I mean every word here. Healthcare is a calling, I truly believe that. And right now this has been on my mind. Take care of yourselves y'all. And of course...

Be well, y'all.
