On to the RR

As we continued our march of new floors from one side of the downstairs to the other the next in our line of attack was the downstairs bathroom. We would be replacing the beige tile my husband had installed almost two decades ago. He said he had intentionally installed them in two tile sections so it should be easy to take up.

My friend I want to be like when I grow up was excited about the demo portion of the work we were doing. She said she wanted to come over and help after work. Well, if you don't know my husband you don't know how fast he can make things go. By 12:30 I was texting her to not bother driving over, the floor was up.

It wasn't all sunshine and new floors though. When we pulled up the tile my husband found a place in the floor that had become water damaged and had to be fixed before the new floor went down. My mom happened to text me asking how I was doing. I told her I would be fine if my husband would quit putting holes in my house.

I could see clear through to the crawl space in the hole he cut in the floor, a disconcerting sight. Also, you can see in the tub photo, there was a water issue behind a few of the tiles (not uncommon either he said). So we (ok, he) just fixed it all while we were in there. Not my favorite thing to do.

The end result was still very nice, the dark floor and tempered grey walls looked fantastic together, very soothing and modern. We still have some work to do, including a new mirror to put up. I am so excited about my mirror. I had considered a round mirror and my husband happened to find one on clearance at our neighborhood Lowe's for about $36. I don't have a picture of it hanging yet, but it looks very similar to this one: https://amzn.to/34actft and the one below:

So, in the mean time, we are enjoying our new floors and contemplating the next step.

Be well, y'all.
