Organizey things

We have a floor, countertops, a big ass sink, and brand spanking new stove. What's next? Organizing things for cabinets! My husband was adamant we never play Pot Jenga again. You know, the game where you have all the pots stacked up in one leaning tower and to get the 3rd one from the top you have to either yank it out and pray it all doesn't come tumbling down or pull them all out, remove the one you want, and stack the others back. I have no idea why he never wanted us to play that game again. I am good at it. I lettered in it in high school. (Ok, not really but still...)
Not actual footage of me
My husband researched and read internet articles and reviews on various cabinet organization items from all sorts of different manufacturers and companies. My husband is excellent at doing just that, gathering all pertinent information about the topic at hand, sorting through it, and making an informed decision. He wanted slide out pieces we could fit things into easily. It all sounded great to me. I hadn't the foggiest how we were going to do it.
We still don't have any drawers in our kitchen yet. My husband, the overachiever, decided to build new ones "They're just boxes," he says. As if everyone knows you an just BUILD DRAWERS. We didn't need them yet because the cabinet doors also aren't ready to go back on yet. We are just concentrating on the cabinets for now. We eventually settled on the Simply Put line from our neighborhood Lowe's.

We got 3 sets, all double tier, pull out, soft close. We got two that had open baskets top and bottom and one that had slats for pot lids on the top tier and spaces for actual pots and pans on the bottom. He installed them while I was on duty one day. He said when our youngest came down that morning he had told her to go to the back of the kitchen. She thought she was in trouble for something but she went. When she did and turned around he heard a very excited, "Oooooooooooooooh!" You have to understand, it is very hard to impress our youngest. He often asks her for her opinion on his artwork because, unlike me, she doesn't love everything he does. So for him to get that kind of reaction he knew it was a win.

I am so easy to amuse that when I got home and saw them I spent full minutes pulling the baskets out and pushing them back just to watch them "soft close" or retract back into the cabinet on their own. Y'all, I'm almost 39 years old. I have never lived with such high class cabinet organization. That was always for people that had more money than we did. I had no idea you could even purchase these kinds of things at the store. I always assumed you had to get them through a contractor or decorator, like a dealer, a kitchen cabinet organization dealer off the illegal market.

Yes, we may have spent $300 on cabinet organization pieces, but everything had a home and there would be no more Pot Jenga in this house. My hubs was a happy, content man with that.
More to come! Don't go away!
Be well, y'all.
