My husband is an artist. Y'all know that by now. And, living with an artist can have some random things occur at times. I am on the phone with a friend that is more like a sister and her husband. They are in their car. They moved to the Huntsville, Alabama area recently so catching up via phone is the best solution we have found. As we are all friends I have them on speaker in the studio so we all can chat.
We are chatting and laughing and telling stories. My husband is working on editing a video for his YouTube teaching channel while we chat. Their son is about to turn the big ONE and she is filling me in about the birthday activity details. Suddenly my husband blurts out, "Honey do we have a Bob Ross wig around here somewhere?"
Silence on their end and mine. Confused look at the random request from me. Confused sound, and I can imagine the confused looks from them. "Huh?"
"You know," he says, "A wig that looks like Bob Ross' hair."
"Yes," I say, "I am very familiar with him and his work. And his show. What I don't understand is how you think we have a costume store in this house somewhere."

For years it was pool noodles. He would ask for me to run get a pool noodle as if we had a pool noodle stash somewhere around here. Pool noodles are very useful for various and sundry things, don't get me wrong, but I got tickled every time. And containers... He would say run get me a container as if we had a Bed Bath and Beyond branch in the attic. I used to get really annoyed. Now it just makes me smile. He was a project manager for a long time. That skill of delegating is ingrained in him and not something he does intentionally.
For the record, after a summer of him teaching art to middle schoolers we now actually do have a small stash of pool noodles, left over from a craft he did with them. So now when he requests a pool noodle, I hand him one and usually he looks pleasantly amused.
So, back to the wig. "Why do you need a Bob Ross style wig honey?"
"For a video." Of course, many random requests relate to his teaching channel in some way. Unfortunately we did not have one hanging around. And we could not get one here by the end of day locally. You see, our year round costume physical store closed last year and moved to online only. Amazon did have one, but arrival would be a couple of days. As he was wanting to upload this video same day, it wouldn't work.
